Pizza may be one of the most versatile dishes on the planet. I should know, I’ve put just about everything on a pizza – green bean casserole pizza anyone??? Just saying, you’re missing out on a new classic! Don’t worry! We’ll start with a french twist on a traditional chicken alfredo pizza. But the green bean casserole pizza’s a coming, folks! I promise, you’re going to want to try it!
One small note! You’ll notice that I call for 1-2 slices of your favorite kind of cheese. I find that sliced cheese fairs better than grated cheese under the broiler. Also, when you’re only making enough to feed yourself, it’s much simpler to use a grab-and-go ingredient that doesn’t require a lot of cleanup.
Bake Time: 45 minutes Makes: 1 pizza
1 recipe pizza dough (lunch or dinner portion depends on how hungry you are!)
1 recipe of mornay sauce
1 recipe thyme, salt & pepper roasted chicken breast, thinly sliced
1-2 slices swiss cheese
freshly ground pepper, for plating
freshly minced thyme leaves, for plating
1. Prep the pizza dough, mornay sauce, and thyme, salt & pepper roast chicken breast per the instructions in the hyperlinked recipes.
2. Preheat the broiler to high. Top the freshly baked pizza dough with the mornay sauce and thinly sliced roast chicken breast. Cover with 1-2 slices of your favorite cheese, I’ve suggested swiss cheese but you could really use whatever you prefer. Broil on high for 5 minutes or until the cheese is golden and bubbly. If the cheese starts to burn, just reduce the broiler, keep calm and carry on! Sprinkle with freshly ground pepper and freshly minced thyme. Doesn’t that sound wonderful!
