I’m spent. 9 nights, 8 sunrises over sleepy European streets, 7 excursions, 6 cities, 5 cups of tea, 4 days at a wonderful cooking workshop, 3 hotels, 2 countries, and 1 happy (but somewhat exhausted) tourist!
Ending a trip in style is all about coffee. On that note, I’m sipping the dulcet tones of a café crème cognac. I find it comforting when something is exactly as it should be – warm coffee, slight hints of cream, sweet notes of cognac. No further embellishment needed.
As I make my way home to my puppies, my nieces and my family, I bid you cheers from an airport in Amsterdam!
- 1 ounce of cognac
- A cup of freshly brewed coffee or espresso
- Heavy cream, as needed
- Sweetener, as needed
- Top the cognac with a warm cup of freshly brewed coffee or espresso. Add cream or sugar, to taste.
